yoga, cooking and apparently cleaning has become a hobby...sadly.
salsa dancing, photography, and decorating. And now that I'm here I'll have time to come up with some new hobbies ;)

Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Dean Martin, ok I think you get it, pretty much all the jazz classics. Pink Martini, Gotan Project, Mantra Girl, Saint Germain, Thievery Corporation, all Christmas music, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Bach, Mozart, Bob Marley, The Eagles, Elvis. The Beatles, REM, Erykah Badu, Lenny Kravitz, disco, I could go on but I think you can see it's a pretty mixed bag of goods here.

Anything by Christopher Moore, for example Lamb, the Gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood friend. I just finished reading it for the second time and definitely a lot of lol moments in there. Blood Sucking Fiends, Dirty Job, The Secret, Wilbur Smith, The Attractor Factor, Memoirs of Cleopatra, Gospel, Imajica and many, many more.

Sunshine, positive people, good food, good wine, yoga, salsa dancing, salsa music, jazz, classical music, rock, pop, pretty much anything but Country music, and Jazz is most definitely my favourite! Cooking, baking, eating :) Travel, interior design, photography, colonial and contemporary architecture, history, reading, fashion, dogs, birds chirping in the morning to wake me up, my mac and so much more.

Snow, cold, rain! negative people, bad food, bad wine :)
traffic jams, working in an office/working, ants, pain, humidity, and frizzy hair! Cleaning, washing dishes, did I mention ants? Oh right, I did.

My husband and I just moved here to the beautiful City of Merida on Nov. 13th. We drove 8000km from Vancouver, Canada; it was a hell of a ride but this space isn't big enough for that storey, we'll have to save it for later.
Like pretty much every other expat, we wanted to make a change, not only for the weather but for our sanity. You've heard the storey, tired of working from 9-5, stuck in a sardine can in the basement working our butts off and just generally feeling stuck. It was time for a change. We knew we'd make a move like this eventually but we're about 5 years ahead of schedule, thankfully.
Our friends moved here about a year ago after we told them about Merida and they came and of course fell in love with it. We looked at each other and said "hell, if they're doing it, why can't we?" So we started paying off debt, then saving and voila, here we are. We're currently staying with our friends in a great apartment above their house in Centro. Lots more to tell but not enough time or space to tell it. We're looking forward to meeting new friends and swapping our stories in person.
