Hi Brenda !

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. We have had a serious medical crisis in our family and have had to put everyhing else on the back burner. I inadvertently deleted your message but I would be happy to answer any questions that I can.  Just PM me if you like. As an aside, although people may think you are crazy owning in Chelem, after you have been there and settled in a bit, you will find that you think they are the crazy ones for not understanding how wonderful it is there.

Hi Brenda:

Sorry we missed you in March.  By the time we were to look for your yellow house we heard you had already left.  Anyway, I think we saw you and Richard while we were having dinner at the Bull Pen.

Anyway, we bought a couple of houses there and will be back in October to start the renos.  Any suggestions, pro or con, on what contractor to use?

Ha! You may be there before I am!!! Got stopped at the border 2 weeks ago for an old car sticker I didn't turn in... that car was hit by some old man running a stop sign, totaled, and towed Heaven only knows where! So I'm back home on Bayou Rouge in Louisiana - waiting for the sticker to be canceled - had to snail mail info to D.F.! - and they say it could take up to 3 months! Wouldn't you know? And this is the LAST and FINAL move down! Oh well... this too shall pass... LOL

So you are a relatively new Grandmother? That is the most important role you will ever have! I have 3 grandsons. When people ask me "Why MOVE to Mexico?" I tell them to fast forward a VERY few years... the college Fall semester is ending - kids are packing up to go wherever they go for the holidays... and someone asks my grandsons what they are doing for Christmas and New Year's. There will BE no "eye-rolling"... there will BE no "deep sighs"... no visions of having to go to Grandmother's - where they will watch reruns on cable tv for 3 or 4 days and escape at the first opportunity... Nea Nea, Fireball... what MY grandsons will say is "Oh WOW! Man! We're going to YUCATAN to see our GRANDmother! Ya'll want to come with us???"  And THAT is why I chose Yucatan! ...and I'll betcha your granddaughter is going to bring a TON of her friends with her too! Welcome to Yucatan!
