Dancing, hanging in my hammock, meeting new people and learning new things. Is working on your house for three years a hobby??

fifties, sixties, seventies, country & western, salsa, reggae...really any kind of music at all except rap/hip hop.(Well, actually like dancing to some hip hop.)

I haven't been reading much lately.

My dog named "Coco", sunrises, sunsets, morning coffee on the terrazo, hammock hanging, pizza, flan, cheesecake, ceviche, good friends, sincerity, unconditional love, margaritas, pina coladas, kids and grandkids, and Rod, my beau!!

conditional love, people who give gifts with strings, insincerity, green olives, sardines and other slimy sea critters, beer, nortes, and mosquitoes-YIKES!!

Love dancing...took ballroom, latin, swing, and C&W dance. I live in Oklahoma right now and Chuburna Pto, Yucatan is my Mexico habitation part time. I have two kids and 5 grandkids (with one more on the way)which I dearly love, and I have a beach dog that I adopted named "Coco".

Hi Kaye!
YES! Blossom is a Boston and she appreciates you getting it right 'cause she gets called a pug a lot! I was told when I got her- once you get a Boston you will never want another breed and after four years with her I see why! I've loved all my dogs with all my heart but Blossom is really special!

I love to dance as well.  Years ago I did swing and have thought to do ballroom now that I am on my own again.  I'm glad to hear you have a boyfriend.  My husband and I discussed that and he left giving me hi60s blessing.  It seems strange to me but I loved being married and would love to share that again with someone else.  Russ was my soulmate but I believe there is someone else there to share my life with.  How often to you get to Mexico?  I will be there for a week in Feb.  It's my 6oth birthday and I want to celebrate it in Mexico and not cold MA.  It will also be a year since we found out Russ was sick and his b'day is Val. day, so Mexico is the best place for me to be.

I've been searching for women who have sadly lost their husband but are strong and continue their dream to live in Mexico.  That is what my husband  would have wanted for me.  I spend some time last July in Merida with the intent of meeting woman who have moved on their own.  And I met some wonderful woman who have a brave soul and encouraged  me.  I was single until 41 and had a full life having never  been married.  I was lucky to be with my husband for the time we had.  He was a wonderful man and encourged me to move to Mexico and continue our dream.  I'm a bit tired of working;  I do it because I have to!  My husband was a brave soul and I have gained strength from him.  He helped me be brave.  I love the idea of moving to Mexico for the challenge, the beauty and the ability to learn a second language.  When I was thirty I spent time  teaching in Scotland so this will be another life adventure.  Best of luck

Hola,

Interesting post about the boat. I have been trying to find out information reference to importing our jet ski. I was wondering once we get it to Mexico if we would be able to register it and if we decided to sell it would we be able?  If I find out anything that might help answer your question I will send you a e-mail.  Sue & I currently live in Virginia and own property about 6 miles east of Sisal (Sunset Shores). We have our home for sale and once it sell will be relocating full time to Mexico. I actually sold our boat last week and the gentleman is going to pick it up sometime Monday weather permitting since he is taking it by water.

So are you back in paradise?

Hi Kaye,

I hope to see you when you do come back to the Yucatan.  My husband and I moved here from DFW, Tx in Sept 08.  We are still between Texas and Chelem since our home hasn't sold in Texas and our family is back there!  So we are not settled here yet but slowly getting there!  I look forward to learning some steps from you.  I haven't really danced it up in awhile... :  )

Kaye,

A few years ago when I took my one (to date) extended visit to Merida (2 months) I threw a party at my house to then meet my newly found friends at MI and about 15 of the attended the party.  I had music and my thought was that dancing of some kind would be included in the celebration but it wasn't to be since my guests just came, ate, drank and talked all of the time they were there.   I have to say I was a bit disappointed the party did turn out as I would liked it tohave been but I still was glad to have met a great bunch of guys/gals and was happy with that.

I am thinking now that the next time I am in Merida (possibly next year) I would like to have another party at my house (which I must tell you is probably nothing like most of your homes since it is not "upgraded" but still is home and I love it) and this time I will publicize the fact that I expect dancing to be part of it and of course your name will be first and foremost among the guests (hey, how often do you find someone willing to dance?).  I can't say that I am the best dancer in the world, but I have a few moves and any dance I don't know, well, I fake it, but I still have fun at it.

Anyway, a few years ago it was a MI party, the next time around will be a Yolisto party and that way I will get to know some more people and who knows perhaps some of my old buddies from MI will show up and I/we will build a larger expatriate network of friends.

How's that for an idea?

Kaye,

Howdie, how are you doing?  Have we chatted before? (e-mail, messenger, MI, etc.).  I was reading your likes and I see you like one of the things I adore (dancing) although I rarely do I ever get the chance to move my booty.  Hope to some day get to meet you and come to think about it, it may just happen next year when I might be coming to Merida for an extended stay.

That's actually one of the exact things I plan on doing -- private and small group lessons, short, inexpensive "do it yourself" clinics to teach people particular things, etc.  This is how I've built my business in Oklahoma over the last 10 years -- a lot of hands on, one on one support and, so I'm told, in a very user friendly way!  That's what I'm brining to the beach!

Hola Kaye . . . yes, looks like we both can be called Okies . . .  though I'm Yucatan bound next summer (If we find a house by then, that is!)
