I am glad you are choosing Yucatan for retairment, you won´t regret it, it is nice over here and if your husband likes golf, he can play here all year around. There is a Golf Club - La Ceiba - http://www.golfyucatan.com/ - and two more under construction. If you want to play here during your stay you can do it by going to the Golf Club and paying the fee, normally around $ 1000.00 pesos, but there is another way to play there free or almost free, there is an hotel in Merida close in downtown where the rooms are from $50 USD to $75 USD but if you are a guest from the hotel then you can play free in the golf club!!! the hotel is Hotel Caribe - www.hotelcaribe.com.mx - There are fees for playing all year or just for seasons in the Golf Club. So if you have not choosen an hotel yet to ne here during that time, I will suggest to get this one, and you will play for free, and the hotel is very nice and one block away from the downtown and there is a nice enviroment around there, overall at nigths, there is always something going on for our visitors.
