The ocean, animals, music, friends, honesty, future plans of retirement in Mexico, relaxing with a good book, photography, home remodeling - how many have sons give them Skil saws for Christmas? Cooking - even if the outcome is not so stellar. So far have poisoned no one. Having a husband who loves me to no end...checks for injury reports daily - see home remodeling above. Did I say future plans of retirement in Mexico? I enjoy being an optimist and a recovered type AAA personality.

Getting up at 4:30 a.m. to go to work for 25 years.
Dishonesty in people. Cold winters, being landlocked - OK the Mississipi river is just a few blocks away, but is waaaaaay not the ocean! I really hate housework and grocery shopping American style. Not being able to walk to places I want to go.

A former US Army brat (US dad/Brit mom) who lived in Germany 'til five Y/O and spent my growing up years in Williamsburg, VA. Have lived in Missouri since 1969, two sons, four grandchildren. Remarried in 2006 to a gentle man from Germany. We adopted lab mix Natasha (Kinski) and kitty, Sasha - inherited from younger son. "Look what they were giving away at Wal Mart!"

Have worked in education as support staff for 25+ years and am looking forward to retirement in Mexico in about two years or after a lotto winning - which ever comes first.

OK found Sun Kin.  It's in Progreso.
I took my camera but any pictures would have been very deceiving.

The building is 95% up but it's an empty shell.

The site manager told us it would be done maybe in November.

My guess would be November 2010.

Also it is not on the beach, they are on the south side of the beach road so you can see the gulf as long as you're not on the first floor but their is no beach frontage.

Katie wants to know if you only want a condo and what size and price range?

Hey I'm in paradise riding my cycle , what more can I say..........
Anyway Kt says that Sun Kin is in Progreso not Chicxulub.

So we're going to the store later and she'll show me where it is.

Personally I think she's thinking of Neek Kaan, and I think the pictures are also of Neek Kaan on the Sun Kin site.

They do that a lot here, they advertised and showed pictures of the available condos of a place just a couple houses down the beach from us.

Only thing was they never even broke ground on the place.

And they had testimonies of people who enjoyed driving home from work and seeing flamingos and then taking a dip in their pool and drying off in the sun on their deck overlooking the gulf!  All the while remember there was nothing there........and since then the project has been dropped.

But I'll get back to you later.  Jim

Well I just got back from a cycle ride around Chicxulub.
I saw no trace of any Villas Sun Kin, at least on or near the beach.

And I went up and down very slow.

So if it's still under construction they haven't put any signs for it yet!

But for that matter I saw no new or under construction sights either.

You seem to have a great grasp on life.  How did you meet your new husband?  I'm just turning 60 but my husband and I knew I would have many years after his passing.  We spoke about me getting on with my life and the idea of being with another person.  He was wonderful;  he didn't want me to just end my life in loneliness and, although I am not ready to move on now, at some point I would like to be in another relationship.  I was 41 when he and I moved in together and 43 when we married.  I had a wonderful life as a single person but appreciate what I had when married to this wonderful person.

We bought a house in Chelem (see pics) a year ago.  So far, we're trying to get down to it every two-three months for a week or so.  Next year, after our son graduates from high school, I'll be able to stay for longer stretches although Shawn (husband) will be more limited.  We're self-employed and I do the accounting, so I have a home office and can work pretty much anywhere.  He actually has to see people outside the house!  I don't see us retiring for a while unless we can make some big money really fast.  (And, at 51, I may be your big sister - but thanks for the compliment!)  Let us know when you head down south next - we'll have you over for cocktails.

Sarah - I swear, you look like you could be my sister!  Plus, same hobbies, likes & dislikes.  Graduated high school Plattsburg, Mo - college at NWMSU Maryville.  One big difference - my husband won't let me play with the skil saw.  I use his sawzall when he's not looking, though!  Have you bought in Mexico, yet?  Kay
