I am a Realtor, and my husband works in Nuclear Power; we currently live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We are 43 and 48 years old, young minded, no children. We have recently bought a second home in Chelem that is being remodeled. We plan to use this home for vacations with friends, and for a rental/investment property.

Oh - and my son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons live on Camp Drive - which runs parallel to Hoo Shoo Too in Ascension Parish. I can see their house as I drive in to mine, but have to either take a boat (3.1 miles around and up Bayou Manchac) or drive 18 miles around to Oak Grove, to the pipe man, and back in to Bayou Manchac. Jonathan says its the ONLY way to live near your mother!!! LOL

Terry and Mike - How WONderful to have someone else from Louisiana - and from Baton Rouge - AND who knows what Hoo Shoo Too Road was named for... LOL I've had a camp on the Amite, down at the end of the road, for almost 35 years now.

Did you know that we have another Louisianian in Merida? His name is Stephen Forte and he is an interior designer from Shreveport. Do you know him? I cannot tell you how glad I am to have all of you in Yucatan.

I am in the States now - over in Arnaudville (north of Breaux Bridge and Cecilia) - but will be back in Yucatan soon. Writing the News and Events for Yucatan Living from way up here is wearing me down. Time to come "home." :)
