I was reading the nice article you wrote about all the volunteer organizations here along the beach.  Kudos to you, very nice advertisement for all of them...

 

You might want to check with Katie however on the Chili Cookoff for the Christmas Toys, as far as I know Chuburna does not receive any benefits from that get together.  I think it is soley Chelem.  Just check with Katie at the Sandcastle to make sure.

I have to tell you that i LOVED your response to HSBC top 10 places to retire.  As with your other writings, it was well thought out, researched and had just enough opinion and humor to make me sail through it.

Thanks for your comment on our post Merida or Bust! Blossom & I LOVE Yucatan Living! We've been reading it for years! It's been a great site to direct my confused loved ones to when they ask: Why Mexico? Why Merida? And we really appreciate all the reliable information! We saw your post about Opportunities for Community Service and were especially grateful for the info about the animal shelters. Blossom is a rescue dog from Kentucky that came close to being put down. Luckily when she ran out of time in the Kentucky shelter the staff knew she was adoptable and shipped her to Wisconsin where she wound up as my foster dog in a rescue I was volunteering for. So helping her fellow rescue dogs is definitely something Blossom & I are interested in! Thanks for the info!

Thanks for writing back.  I just came back from Merida where I was able to visit with some wonderful people I have met during my visits.  I did read about the projects in your home state and they are wonderful;  anything that promotes the arts is a plus in my mind.

You're right about living in the wrong place... I'm from Destin, Florida originally. Just moved back from Tampico, Mexico area. I keep going the wrong way!! What's next?? Duluth or Siberia?? Later, Duane
