Article: This is one of the biggest weeks of the year in the beach towns in Yucatan. It is one of those cleanup, fixup, paintup occasions that takes place several times a year. The Queen has been crowned and it is time for the festivities to begin.   Saturday, May 30: A dinner dance at the Casa de Cultura in Progreso. 9:00 PM Sunday, May 31 through June 6: softball and soccer games Tuesday, June 2: A Night of Poetry, in the Juarez Room of the Municipal Palace. 8:30 PM Thursday, June 4: A presentation of a vocal music group from Progreso and the Trio de la Semar at the Monumento al Pescador. 8:30 PM This is also the night that Felipe de la Cruz will perform at the Casa de Cultura (see our previous notice about this in the articles). Saturday, June 6: a jujitsu exhibition in the Morelos Auditorium. 10:00 AM and a concert by the Orquesta de Bartolome Loria Canto in Parque Morelos at 8:30 PM Sunday: the Marathon of the Day of the Marina begins at 7:00 AM and the Mr. Marino 2009 body-building competition begins at 12:00 PM at the Malecon.
