Reading while eating chocolate, fun people, acting silly, beer, acting silly while drinking beer, my arrowhead collection, clean windows, dark clouds, being alone, dogs, finding a new seashell, a good haircut, Mexican culture, milk, books, fishing, eating ice cream at the mercado, the beach, dancing with the mop, flowers, geckos and iguanas, slot machines, learning Spanish, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Dislikes
Boring people, sweat in my eyes, someone who wants to tell you all about a movie they saw or book they read (see boring people), pickled beets, sand in the bed, shopping, white bread, women who act like they are still in the seventh grade, wrinkles, dog farts, George Bush, misspelled words, ultra-conservative people, being awakened by the phone, any injustice to the weak or the poor.
About me
I retired to Mexico in October, 2007, after working the last 25 years as a journalist in Nevada and California. Have three sons in Reno and four grandchildren. Mom, who is 83, and two brothers live in Oregon.
Our plans are in place for our move. I owe you one for the intro to Teresa. Is there anything I can bring you from Nevada? Sorry, a slot machine is out of the question. We expect to arrive in Chelem on June 12. Looking forward to meeting you in the near future.
I see you have a lot of friends... too many? I ask because I would like to meet you because you listed two of my favourite books as important to you! I“ll be looking for the other two.
Will you be at the Saturday evening happy hour at Hotel Yakunah (6-7PM)?
It was a little after 4 here but yeah, my internal clock is pretty well screwed, 4 or 5 am every day even weekends. but I like it- time alone and it's quiet.
Hey, Marlene! I assume you mean the 24th of November...? I have a creeping feeling we won't be there until the middle of December at this rate. Too many work deadlines! How long is your son going to be there? Hope our paths do cross...
Thanks for your compliment, I pass it on to Lou. He's a real looker, huh? I intend to put up a few more pics of the little hunk soon. See you tonight! Susan
I still can't comment on line but I read about the lobster/fish guy and if you get him to come round, I would love to buy something from him as well. Could you let me know how to get in touch with him
We will be in Progreso in Dec. We are planning to move to the Yucatan in the next few years with the idea of having a place in Merida and another in Progreso. Dislike some of the same things you dislike (George Bush, boring people, injustice ) but my husband does like pickled beets and I like shopping. If you are in Progreso Dec 17th - 19th would you like to have a drink (or a few) with my husband and me and talk to us about living in the Yucatan.
First of all I want to tell you how jealous I feel, you so close to my home town, from my whole family..(well, just being home sick a little)...and here I am, just waiting for the first leaf turn yellow...Please noooo!..which means that winter is not that far away... Edmonton, Alberta is like that. My canadian husband's dream is one day retire in Merida, where I own a house. But do you know anything about Mexicans married with Canadians and how can they get their residency status?
Thank you, and sorry if there's any spelling mistakes.
