“Can you live here?â€
Posted On 03/16/2010 22:08:22 by siotha
Recently I was asked this question in a point blank manner. My immediate response was NO. I like living in the suburbs of Dallas. But, the reality is – I am living here. I’m here now. It’s nothing like the suburbs. I have the beach as my back yard, never have to cook, clean and can work whenever needed. The girls are growing, smarter, faster, and more beautiful every day. What I should of said was – Not Yet. This winter has been wonderful, it has been insightful, it has even been very ad... Read More

Portuguese Man O' War Advisory

We are receiving reports from Telchac Puerto all the way to Chuburna of dozens of Portuguese Men O' War (or is it Mans O' War?) washing up on the shores.

Now, you can find out anything you need to know about Progreso right in our own home-town... Read More

We don't usually cover the happenings in Quintana Roo, our neighbors to the East, but what we saw in Cancun today warrants a special report for anyone interested in taking a quick vacation there.

Though hysteria over the Coughing Pig Death has definitely calmed considerably, the whole ordeal has left Cancun a bit of a ghost town. As most of our readers know, the flood of cancellations following the news has been catastrophic to Mexico's tourism industry. But for those of us who are ju... Read More

A Beach Plant Primer
Posted On 04/02/2009 20:09:11 by Yolisto-Khaki
There are loads of plants that those who live at the beach would love to have, most of which are flowering and decorative but may or may not have a great deal of value in preventing beach erosion. "Pretty" is nice, but pretty and protecting your investment is better. The following is a list of plants that was distributed last year by PROFEPA and SEMARNAT. And - in a note to the wise - we understand that, if you go to have building and remodeling plans approved, their plant biologist will "sugges... Read More
