The City Council of Progreso cordially invites you to attend the following events celebrating the 138th anniversary of the founding of Progreso. While there are a number of awards presentations throughout the early part of July, the following are the events that will be of the most interest to expats:
July 1
8:00 AM A ceremony at the statue of Don Juan Miguel Castro y Martin
9:00 AM The inauguration of the pictoral exposition of Abraham Quezada Dominguez and the collective Corredor Internacional de Arte in Casa de la Cultura
July 2
There will be a festival of the "Course of Workshops" of the Casa de la Cultura on the Casa de la Cultura Esplanade.
July 9
8:00 PM Cultural Night
This event will be under the direction of UADY and will be held on the lower floor of the Municipal Palace. This will certainly be a must attend event.
July 11
A night of "Danzon" in Parque de la Morelos. This is an ongoing event that is held every Saturday night.
July 12
Anniversary Serenade
This event will take place on the lower floor of the Municipal Palace. There will be "invited guest artists," which always puts it in the "must see" category. Unfortunately, no time is given! Perhaps we shall learn more as the date draws near.
