New Chelem Library
Posted On 12/17/2008 23:48:25 by sarge

I have asked for a space in Hotel Las Garza for a small library and have been given the space for us to use by the owner Emmanuel.

I have a shelf built and will be putting it in the hotel this weekend and getting some books on the shelves.

Various people have donated some books and I think we will have @ 100 or so books to start off with.

This will start off as a honor thing and we will see how it goes.

I would like it to be a bring one take one kind of book exchange so that their is always a good selection of different books and everyone has something they like to read.

If anyone has books to donate I will be glad to work them into the shelves and they can be dropped off at the hotel or at my house next door.

Lets build this up so there will be a good selection at all times.

I have one set of book cases made now and as it grows Ill make more as they are needed.

If you see Raul or Emmanuel tell them thanks for the space and remember they have cold drinks and internet service there in the front lobby.

Thanks to all for the books to get this started and thank you Manny for giving me the space to start this.

We now have @ 60 books on the shelves ands growing really fast,I have some more books coming and as soon as i get them they will be put on the shelf.

Remember this is a 1 for 1 exchange or if you are new and dont have books yet to exchange leave a donation at the desk and we will use donations to get more books.

Lets build this up so everyone has a good selection of reading materials.

I have also put a few magazines on the shelves so there is a selection there for everyone.

I would like to get some childrens books to beca.use there is beginning to be more and more kids in the area.

Thanks for all the donation of books,im sure the whole Chelem community will benefit from them.

      thanks ,

Thank you Mr. Rick.  For those of us that can't get out or travel too far I will appreciate your help.  Others could take a lesson from the way you help folks.

Darci,

The hotel is very close to where you live....I think. I drove around yesterday and still am not sure exactly where your house is. The only yellow house with a fence and se vende sign I saw had a horse in the yard. Nice horse. Planning to join the rodeo? I'll check again tomorrow with the directions you sent.

Hotel Las Garzas is right behind the baseball fields one block towards the beach. Can't miss it, it's huge.

Hope you have better luck with directions than I apparently do.

That is awesome!!  Once I'm settled in I think I'll have to come round and check it out.  I hope I don't sound too brain dead for asking where the hotel is located??  I'm brand new to chelem and don't recall seeing the hotel? :)

This is good news. At my age they say that reading helps to improve memory loss .

Hey, thanks Emmanuel and Sarge. For a book addict like me, this is good news. I have always felt welcome and comfortable at Hotel Garzas and am sure I'll be there more now.

Saludos.

You are most welcome my friend!!!

To those who are browsing books before they take them out, feel free to grab a seat around the pool, in the garden by the tennis court or even on the roof.. anywhere you feel comfortable!! The hotel space is open to all..
