This post is for those who want to try something new. C.I.S. language schools are in need of native English speakers for Saturday morning classes.There are three campuses located in Centro, Garcia Gineres and Mexico Norte. These classes would be for advance students and are three hours in length, with a 15 minute break. I have taught at both Centro and Garcia Gineres over a four year period. I taught English in exchange for Spanish classes and the hours were banked so I could take the Spanish classes at my convenience. I had no formal classroom training prior to teaching there other than staff training and various management seminars during my cooking career. I really enjoyed the teaching experience and the students were engaging and open to new ideas. It was a rewarding experience and I got some insight to what the students felt about the future of Merida and Mexico in general. I am commited to my cooking classes for the Life Long Learning program on Saturdays otherwise I would continue to teach English. It sounds like a lovely program and I plan to telephone them shortly. While I am a native English speaker, I also have a US teaching credential and am fluent in Spanish. Hopefully they will want me.
