I pulled out our policy to check the amounts, it is in English (we have a copy in Spanish also), and all amounts are in US dollar amounts.

 

$180,000 insured sum Building, $162,000 insured sum for Hydro-meteorological phenomena building (hurricane).

contents $5000/hmp contents $4500

debris removal $10,000

extra expenses $5000

robbery $5000

family civil liability $50,000

glass $5250

 

Total cost of policy is $1605.52. This is the same we paid for the previous year. Most of the cost in the breakdown is attributed towards the hmp coverage (hurricane) - $1118.36

We have been with HSBC for home ins the last 3 years. forget about them they are crooks. Other agents I contacted could not seem to be bothered to find better deals. Our insurance agent told us that it is a lot cheaper to purchase life insurance in the

U. S. because very few Mexican citizens buy life insurance. So if your insurance agent is pushing life insurance you might want to check it out.
