I only know what I've heard about him , and its not been good . I know of a few people who

would love to get their hand on him

I loved the work he did for me, so much so, that I wished he would have returned to finish it! He is talented, but make sure to pay as you go, not a peso over, with the real money at the end of the job.

All I can say is "hard lesson learned". I don't want to get into details, that's why I edited my original post. He never came back to finish my job either. In fact, he never even started after the down payment for materials was given.

Well, I didn't answer the original post because the phone number that I had for Gaspar didn't work and I have no other contact information. He made us some screen doors, one of them warped. We are trying out a new carpenter (this is number 5) and we asked him to try to fix the door. Well, it was warped worst that I thought. So I said, okay how much for a new door? Our carpenter then wanted to know if we wanted it in pine like the door we had! We paid for cedro! The other two doors which Gaspar made (which also have some issues) are also made of pine! I could just cry.

Yeah, I know how you feel Theresa. Nancy & I are just sick about it and we feel pretty helpless. I spoke to our lawyer and he called Gaspar. All he got was more BS and lies. We could sue him, but it would cost as much as we lost, with no guarantee that we would ever get our money back.

I think the word is getting around about this guy. I know of at least 3 people he has either cheated or provided poor workmanship. Spread the word to everyone you know, so others don't get cheated by him.
