Don't you just love the "zoning laws" (or lack of same) in Yucatan? First, I lived in Progreso. Cemetery in front, no problem... BUT - in back... in a residential neighborhood... a restaurant and bar (loud music til all hours), a neighbor with a 5 ft. iguana that walked the wall and looked in my bedroom window - when he wasn't looking over at the other neighbor's dogs and making them bark... AND a neighbor with a dozen pet geese... very loud geese... very loud geese with their own swimming pool!!! Then, I moved to sleepy little Cholul... to a house on a corner - which meant that the neighborhood video rental store was across the street from my bedroom window - what a joy on weekends... LOL... and how wonderful to live in a new subdivision with big, wide, paved streets... how WONderful for late-night soccer games... the piercing screams of 10 year olds playing soccer at midnight don't even sound human... For the newbies... not to worry... after a while, you don't even hear it anymore... in fact, it will begin to make you uncomfortable to "hear" silence in the States on visits... as if something is somehow "wrong".... and adds to the instinctive feeling that you really [u:4p511txg]need[/u:4p511txg] to get "home" to Yucatan.
Life is just a tire swing.
