Mexico takes on Australia at 8 pm our time. The game will be aired on ESPN. Mexican players from the Major Leagues as well as players from the Mexican League will showcase their stuff. Mexico should advance to the second round. Canada lost a tense game against the U.S. 6-5. It's shame that Canada is without three of it's best starting pitchers because of injury. One timely hit and Canada could have easily beat the U.S. They looked like they could do well. The U.S. will need to play much better to win it all.

Thanks for the update, EPF. Do you know if any Leones are playing for Mexico?

Time to go check out the Mexican lineup.

The USA Eastern Daylight Savings Mexico-Australia start time is 9:00 PM - so, I don't see how the local Mexican start time can be 8:00 PM, due to today's US time spring-forward 1 hour time change. Shouldn't the local start time be 7:00 PM in Merida?

Controversy???

"This year's provisional 45-man roster boasts nine Mexican-Americans, including Gonzalez, Tampa's Matt Garza, Arizona's Augie Ojeda, Jerry and Scott Hairston along with Toronto catcher Rod Barajas."

9 ponchos (strike-outs?)... wow

19 Mexican players on the roster coming from US MLB teams

Roster includes a few Mexican League Pros: Tigres, Diablos, Sultanes, y Piratas

I couldn't find any Leones on the main Mexican roster...

I'm going to turn to ESPN or ESPN2 after 60 MINUTES on American Network and just enjoy the game whenever it starts, controversy or not. I was surprised that the Leone's pitcher Oscar Rivera was left off this year's team.

Correct.

Mexico changes to Daylight Savings Time on the first Sunday in April ((spring forward) and falls back on the last Sunday in October.

Australia 17 -Mexico 7. What an ugly game. No pitching. Now Mexico will need to beat Cuba if they hope to advance.
