Thanks for asking me to be a friend. I'm not real great with the computer, so it's been a slow process finding people to talk to about Mexico. But I'm improving! I tried to upload a photo last night but I don't think it worked, unless it takes a while to be processed. Hope to talk to you soon.  Maritsa

Hey Phil, I decided on Luna after several people on the old Merida Insider recommended him. The work was so bad, everything from mis-placement of the pool, major crack in the roof, patio floor wasnt graded properly so everytime it rained my house filled with water. The exterior paint peeled off with the first rain, pool drain doesn't work, bad electrcial wiring, etc. The architect has repaired most of the problems, if he doesn't get everything correct by the final hearing on Aug 14th, he will be fined by Profeco. I'll post more about it after Aug 14th, but feel free to email me if you have questions.   I suggest you check with Profeco for complaints against any of the architects you're  considering. Also, make sure you get an intemized, detailed price list/contract for all work to be done from your architect. If you don't, Profeco can not help you should you have problems in the future with any of the work.   Saludos, Jim     Mondochuck@aol.com

Your beach looks beautiful...  I have owned my house in Chuburna for about 3 years...a work in progress.  Look forward to meeting you.  When will you be down again?  How far east of Progreso is Sisal?

Phil, we appreciate the message. We do not know what area we want to move to, and retire in. We have seen many photos of property online. After awhile they all starty to look alike. What made you settle in Sesil? Retired at 49? Wow, congratulations are in order. I wish I could retire now,  I have a few more years to go, but if the ecomony continues in the same direction, maybe sooner than later. I am always looking for photos from area of interest. Send them to me if you have any to share from your town. Maybe we can get together when we come down, and have a cookout. Ill bring the brisket, and ribs.

Thanks for the note.

Mike

Cool, you are only about an hour away.  We are going to PDC for our 25th anniversary and it will be our first time to Mexico.  I have a feeling I will love it there, I am fantasizing about  moving to Mexico when I retire.  Not sure it will be Yucatan though.  I hate heat from living in Virginia all my life.

I found Paul on Myspace last summer when I was googled Chelem and met him briefly in person at the March yolisto meetup.  I don't think his wife was in town.  Shawn may have visited with him a bit.  We live north of Dallas and bought our Chelem house last June.  Our son has one more year of high school ... when he joins his sister at college we'll be able to stay in Mexico for a couple of months at a time.  We can only squeeze in a week or two every few months right now.  We're looking forward to being able to discover the areas!  So far we've been painting and furniture shopping too much to wander far from Chelem/Progreso.  When do ya'll go down next?  It'd be fun to meet for cocktails.

I love the picture of the pier (?).  Where is it?  That looks like a great place to visit.  Kay
