Trimaran Zamná - Ship of Peace

The Zamná (so named for the Mayan God of Knowledge) returned 2 days ago to its embarcation port,  Progreso, after a 5-month long trans-Atlantic journey which officially ended in Greece after 27 ports of call.  The journey, called "The Child, The Sea and The Peace," sought to deliver a message of peace and acceptance at each port of call.  Among those on the ship was a 12 year old Mayan child named Tony Angulo who was named the Ambassador of Peace by Cozumel which itself was recen... Haiti Earthquake Help in Progreso

If you would like to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, Cruz Roja (Red Cross) in Progreso is taking donations of food, clothing, water, etc. at their office.  It's located on Calle 29 between 96 and 98.

Last night, my wife Cristy and I tried a new restaurant called, "Shaolin Oriental Food," located in Colonia Mexico, on Calle 21.

Christmas Toy Drive & Papá Noel in Chelem

This year, I had the tremendous joy of seeing a few local expats in full holiday sprit. Spear headed by beachstarzand sarge the 2009 Chelem toy drive was amazing. Many expats donated time, money and toys. In fact over 875 bags full of toys were given to the children in the town square. It was such a great event even Papá Noel himself showed up.
