Love in a .45, all Bond flicks (S.C. will always be my favorite), Reservoir Dogs, Boondock Saints, Snatch, Office Space, Roman Holiday (I have a girlie side too!), and I just saw Mamma Mia...loved it! Oh, there are TONS more where those came from, but they're just the 1st few that came to mind.

REM, Modest Mouse, The Pixies, the Cure, the Plain White T's, the Texas Tornados, the Church, the Killers, the Clash, the Smiths. Basically, anything with a good beat (except contemporary jazz and tear in your beer songs). Right now, I'm really into Reggaetón. Check out Matisyahu.

I love to read and prefer fiction, it's the Pisces daydreamer in me! My damn commute has me listening to podcasts & audio books more than reading lately...pretty sad...last book I read was Simple Genius.

Long lines, traffic, ppl w/o civility, being a worry wart, wearing glasses, constant typos, impulse buys, exercise, my unhealthy addiction to brain cell stealing TV shows...biggest violation...the Hills & Real Housewives NYC, not OC...and my overuse of ellipses. I could go on, but I'm trying to be less negative.

I'm a recreation professional, and happily admit that enjoy my career. However, we hope to semi-retire in a few years. I have a minor in Tourism, which I'd like to put to use when we move to the Yucatan!
While researching our first trip to Merida, I discovered Yolisto and the enjoyment of perusing this site. Like many others, we fell in love with the idea of moving to Mexico, getting away from the hurried pace of our normal lives, and being a part of a culture we love.
I’m half Mexican, but other than 3 years of high school Spanish, I don’t speak a lick. Comprendo mucho, pero no habla! I just started the Rosetta Stone series, so I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
We’re still young and with no kids (unless you count the 4 legged kind...we do!), we’re planning on an early semi-retirement. After visiting Mérida last month, it looks like we’ve found the spot we want to land!
We met with a realty company (step 1). We only discussed the generalities of buying property in Mexico, but made no serious attempts to visit properties, etc. We’re planning to return in Feb. or March to rent a house (step 2), stay for a few weeks, and try to live more like locals and less like tourists. After that, we’ll decide if we’re ready to take the plunge into foreign home ownership.
Until then, I’ll keep checking out Yolisto and Yucatan Living, and try to soak up as much info. as I can keep up with! It’s fun to dream too…
