All Bond flicks (S.C. will always be my fave), Reservoir Dogs, Boondock Saints, Snatch, Office Space, Roman Holiday, and Mamma Mia. There are TONS more where those came from, but they're just the 1st few that come to mind.

REM, Modest Mouse, The Pixies, The Cure, The Cult, The Texas Tornados, The Church, The Killers, The Clash, the Smiths. Basically, anything with a good beat (except contemporary jazz and tear in your beer songs).

I love to read and prefer fiction, it's the Pisces daydreamer in me! My damn commute has me listening to podcasts & audio books more than reading lately...pretty sad.

Travel, playing with my dogs, puppy breath (why does it have to go away?, good books, my family and friends (especially the Construction Crew), trashy magazines (I digress), no longer wearing glasses, Extra Hot Pico, Guacamole, Green Apple Jelly Belly's, ACL, Zilker Park, NAU, my job, nerdy ppl, and Indio Beer.

Long lines, traffic, mean ppl, being a worry wart, constant typos, my muffin top, impulse buys, exercise (explains the muffin top!), and my overuse of ellipses...I could go on, but I'm trying to be less negative.

Go to my website - www.movingtomerida.com to learn more that you ever wanted about me and my dream of moving to Merida!

Hey there TexMex!!! Thanks for checking in. It was really nice talking to you that day. Since that day...we went thru a couple more stressful days only to hit chill city and finally find my sanity. We have been here a full week and it feels like home already.

So far I have met alot of really nice peeps and I hope to meet the whole Yolisto gang as soon as we can. Looking forward to your visit in January. I will be sure to stay in touch thru fb as soon as I get Cablemas to stop giving me the runaround and they finally show up to put my internet in. GRRR! That a story for another day. Welcome to Mexico!!! Is what my mom says. Gotta love it! lol

Saludos y hasta pronto!!! MexicaChica

THe trip to Holbox is only a few hours from Merida.   Depending on how fast you drive and how good you are with directions I suspect it should take no more than 3 hours to the ferry port then a 30+ minute boat ride.   I would definately WAIT on my trip until high season to be 100% sure to see Whale Sharks and giant Mantas and I would go on the private trip.   A bit more money but worthwhile.   Also recommend getting a hotel with a pool....

Hi, Susan. I guess I just need a big dose of self-discipline to get back onto a schedule for profiles. Thanks for the comment.

Hey there! Its nice to hear from ya! I would love to see this blog of yours. I'm addicted to reading any blogs about people with Mexico on their mind. Plans are coming along for us. Still no contract in hand but we are getting some traction. That hasn't stopped us from getting all our ducks in a row though. We are fixing the house, getting all our paperwork going etc. Speaking of---yes, I got my 'registro de nacimiento' completed . I went by the consulate last Friday to pickup my copies but the guy who was supposed to have them was not there. He wrote me with a big aplogy email the same day and get this! an offer to take me out to lunch to make up for the incovenience! lol Its taken me four visits (no registro  in my hand yet) but VERY hopeful since I guess I've made a friend. lol Oh well! Thanks for asking. :-)

Please do share the blog info. I'll be adding you to my google reader! Saludos y mucha suerte!!

Your foto of Kung-Fu Simi is very cool.  I walk past there several times a week (about 3 blocks from my home), but never saw him.   That's on the corner of C. 25 and C 20 in Garcia Gineres - across from the back of Our Lady of Fatima church.  When were you there?   steve
