You can get horseradish "sauce" at one of the larger stores in Merida. I can't say which one, but a friend donated a jar to us last winter. But I have never seen jars of real horseradish anywhere. We have another friend who mules it down for us from Canada.

Pacsadeli in Merida sometimes has it, the real thing, I bought a big jar 1 yr ago. ask for it.

1 block behind galerias el triunfo,at the south of Montejo, to the left 1/2 block.... (3 stories stuffed of furniture and you name it, interesting place to look around.)

Grated horseradish is almost impossible to find in this area. Sometimes you can find horseradish sauce (mayo and horseradish) at Chedraui. For the past two years I have put a jar in my luggage. You need the real stuff to make a red cocktail sauce.
