dreaming of moving to Merida...my wife and I are also. We were there last month for 10 days. Hope to make the big move in less than 2 years. We ask each other every day..."can we move yet?"  keep dreaming!

are you and your hubby going to be in Merida during the 13th-19th?...

let me know before Wed (that's when we leave for Playa Del Carmen for 5 days! Woohoo!!!

just talked to Chef David that runs Los Dos and he said there are still spaces for the one day class on May 14th...$75...cheap! an all day affair with dinner at 4pm w/ cocktails! do it!!!

May 13-19 we will be there.

I am taking a cooking class at Los Dos ($75 USD for a one day Yucatan cuisine class) in Merida.

Maybe we will see eachother!

 

I sooooo can't wait.

Hey! Yeah, solid looking dude, eh? Well, funny you seem to take the same route I did to get here---LA, OR...Merida....I grew up in Sierra Madre in So. CA.

I love Merida.....My son is out of univercity so I don't have recommendations on schools--that seems to be the one issue of interest for parents coming here as public education is not always thorough.  I say this second hand however.  My architects send their children to private schools.  Weather--you get used to it and learn how to deal.  I love the nights!  As far as community---there is such a WIDE range of folks moving here that the age median is all over the board too.  The adventure potential is very high here as is the ability to make your way in business (just follow the rules).

Like water for chocolate is one of my all time favorite books! and we are in the same boat...daydreaming of Merida. That is not only my hobby but my official full time job!
